Effects Of Submerged Friction Stir Welding On Mechanical Properties Of AA6061 In Seawater

In this study, Al-Mg-Si alloy AA6061-T6 plates were joined in a seawater environment using the Submerged Friction Stir Welding (SFSW) technique, and process parameters optimized Taguchi L9 orthogonal arrays (OA). The considered tool rotational speed, transverse pin geometry. MINITAB-17 software was used to analyze responses signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio analysis of variance (ANOVA). optimum for tensile strength joint Microhardness determined. Furthermore, ANOVA reveals that speed is most important factor determining mechanical properties such as UTS Microhardness, with geometries coming second third. Experimental results confirm effectiveness approach. parent material microstructure submerged stir welded samples compared metallographic scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
